RED TiE Recipients

A big thank you to the individuals, businesses and all RED TiE DC event attendees who make spotlighting and supporting selected non-profits organizations through RED TiE DC possible. With your help, we were able to support and spotlight these not-for-profits. We hope you will continue to support them and we look forward to seeing you at the next RED TiE DC event.

Just Ask Project

The Just Ask Prevention Project is a public awareness and prevention campaign designed to expose the growing prevalence of teen sex trafficking in Northern Virginia and to inspire our community to take steps to eradicate it.  Teen sex trafficking is defined as ‘The act of inducing anyone under the age of 18 to engage in a sexual act in exchange for anything of value (money, drugs, shelter, food, clothes, etc)’.  Many citizens are unaware that these horrific crimes are occurring in our community.  Our objective is to decrease the number of victims by highlighting the typical profile of a victim and exposing the recruiting tactics traffickers use. Amara recognizes that while different paths lead a person into commercial sex, many individuals face a common set of legal issues. Amara serves survivors of sex trafficking and any other individual harmed by commercial sex in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

We fight tirelessly to provide excellent legal representation to our clients, to connect survivors with vital social services, and to raise public awareness of the legal issues facing our clients.

car-renaissance-foundationThe Central African Republic Renaissance Foundation (C.A.R.) was founded to help reduce the high incidence of illness and the high mortality rate in Bangui, Central African Republic, by improving the current healthcare system. Simultaneously, we aim to educate and improve literacy among the population by renovating schools and producing multiple social and economic benefits for the nation. We ought to assist victims of crime by providing crisis intervention, advocacy, counseling and education to all persons affected by sexual violence and to provide prevention programs to create a society free of personal abuse. Also, we will provide job placement for the internally displaced people, so they can return to their home.
